Brief Description

Chhakka Bahadur Lama, a native of Humla, hails from a lineage of Nyingmapa Lamas and was initiated into Lamahood at a young age. From his early years, he collaborated with foreign scholars researching various indigenous communities in western Nepal, contributing numerous articles on their socio-economic aspects.

From 1983 to 1989, Tshewang spent time as a trans-Himalayan trader in the Kailash region, allowing him to study the area's history, society, and culture. He has also worked with western media companies to produce documentaries such as The Magic Mountain, Dragon Bride, Lonely Planet Documentary Guide, In Search of Zhang Zhung, and In Search of Shangrila. These documentaries have been broadcast on the Discovery Channel and other platforms.

In addition to his work in media, Tshewang has served as a tour guide in Tibet and western Nepal for both students and cultural tourists, showcasing his expertise in the region's unique history and traditions.
