We Invest In

Arts and Crafts

Indigenous communities have a rich legacy of artistic expression and craftsmanship, often reflecting their unique cultural identity and connection to their environment. IBI is dedicated to collaborating with and promoting projects, initiatives, and businesses that support and showcase the diverse arts and crafts of indigenous communities. By encouraging the preservation and development of these skills, we contribute to the cultural and economic empowerment of indigenous artisans, fostering sustainable livelihoods that celebrate their heritage.

Foods and Beverages

Indigenous communities possess a wealth of knowledge and skills related to the preparation and preservation of traditional foods and beverages. These practices can be harnessed for economic growth, and as such, IBI is interested in projects, initiatives, and enterprises that align with this theme. By embracing these practices, we can foster sustainable food systems that not only promote health and well-being but also generate economic benefits.

Health & Healing

Indigenous communities have a deep understanding of health and healing practices rooted in their traditions and connection to the natural environment. These practices hold potential for promoting holistic well-being and can be integrated into modern healthcare approaches. IBI supports projects, initiatives, and enterprises that explore and promote these indigenous health and healing methods. By incorporating these practices, we can contribute to a more comprehensive healthcare system that values traditional knowledge and fosters overall well-being.

Local Natural Resources

Indigenous communities have developed unique methods for harnessing and utilizing local natural resources sustainably. IBI is committed to collaborating with and promoting projects, initiatives, and businesses that emphasize responsible use and management of these resources. By supporting the sustainable utilization of local natural resources, we contribute to economic growth that respects both cultural heritage and the environment, benefiting indigenous communities.

Soil, Water and Ecosystem

Indigenous communities have long demonstrated a deep understanding of the intricate relationships between soil, water, and ecosystems, and the importance of preserving these natural resources for future generations. IBI is committed to partnering with and promoting projects, initiatives, and businesses that focus on sustainable practices in soil and water management, as well as the conservation and restoration of ecosystems. By supporting such endeavors, we contribute to the environmental and economic well-being of indigenous communities, ensuring their traditional knowledge and practices continue to thrive and benefit both people and the planet.

Tradition, Culture & Practices

Indigenous communities hold a rich heritage of cultural practices and traditions, passed down through generations. These customs embody their unique identity and provide a foundation for sustainable living. IBI is interested in collaborating with and promoting projects, initiatives, and businesses that celebrate and preserve indigenous traditions, cultures, and practices. By doing so, we foster cultural exchange, understanding, and drive economic benefits for these communities.

Our Impact Investment in Handicraft

Thangka, a traditional art form primarily created by Nepal's Tamang ethnic communities, serves as a significant income source. IBI invested in Lokesvara Thangka Center to preserve these skills and generate employment opportunities. Currently employing 56 indigenous women from diverse rural areas, the center enables them to earn a substantial income through Thangka.
